Throughout Brazil, the pudim has many varieties, with many variations depending on the region. However, there are a few common ingredients, including sweetened condensed milk, eggs, sugar, and bread.

Canada: Poutine

A staple of Quebecois culture, poutine is an iconic food in Canada. Although it is not an official Canadian dish, poutine has become a beloved national treat. It is served with gravy and cheese curds and is celebrated on International Poutine Day, April 11th. The dish is said to have originated in rural Quebec in the 1950s. In the 1950s, poutine was largely considered a cheap, unhealthful snack. Thankfully, today poutine has exploded into a worldwide phenomenon.

The origins of poutine are somewhat hazy, but most experts believe it was first created in rural Quebec, in the late 1950s. This area had a large population of dairy farms that produced a special ingredient called cheese curds, also known as squeaky cheese. The dish was initially served in small towns, and then began to spread throughout Quebec, eventually making its way to Montreal and Quebec City. It soon became a common offering on chip truck menus.

England: Steak and Kidney Pie

Steak and Kidney Pie is one of the most popular British dishes. This pie is filled with a mixture of beef, kidney, and onion. The ingredients are similar to the classic steak and kidney puddings. Although the name may seem confusing, this traditional dish has been around for centuries. Here are some of its origins and differences. Listed below are the main differences between this dish and its counterpart. How can you make it?

To make this dish, start by cutting the kidneys in half lengthwise and removing the central core and sinewy core. Next, mince the kidneys finely. After removing the kidneys, cut them into cubes and soak in water for at least one hour. After soaking, remove the kidneys from the liquid and pat them dry. Once they’re dry, dice the meat in a food processor or blender until it’s the desired consistency and melts in your mouth.

The original Steak and Kidney Pie was first mentioned in Charles Dickens’ 1851 novel, The Pickwick Papers. The novel also features a ‘pieman’ who cooks pies using kittens. Despite its literary heritage, Steak and Kidney Pie continues to make its mark in pop culture, including the Harry Potter series. As a result, you’ll find this traditional English dish at Hogwarts and the Leaky Cauldron pub.

Finland: Squeaky Cheese

This unique cheese is made from goat or cow milk and is often called “Finnish squeaky cheese”. Its tight protein network gives it a distinctive squeaking sound when sliced or grilled. It is also commonly served with cloudberry jam or coffee. In Finland, squeaky cheese is a traditional food, and you can find it in stores and online. Here are some great recipes for eating it.

Juustoa, which is also known as bread cheese, is one of Finland’s favorite foods. This soft cheese is baked and firm, and is eaten on bread throughout the day. The milk used to make the cheese is traditionally beestings from cows, and colostrum, which is derived from the bovine udder. In Finland, squeaky cheese can be found in many forms, including bread, cookies, and pastries.

Leipajuusto, or bread cheese, is a type of Finnish cheese that originated in Southern Ostrobothnia and Northern Finland. It is a semi-soft cheese made with a high protein content and is served on its own or combined with cucumbers. It can be incredibly delicious and is an easy way to sample this tasty treat. It is also a great snack and an excellent accompaniment to a cup of hot coffee.

France: Macarons

If you love French cuisine, then macarons should be on your list of must-eat foods. These delicate, egg-shaped pastries are filled with sweet, creamy chocolate ganache. This recipe can be prepared several hours before you want to eat them, but keep in mind that they’re incredibly fragile and need to be kept in a cool place. In addition to a cool, dry place, you can also store macarons in the refrigerator.

While they’re often considered the symbol of French confectionery, they’ve made a successful transatlantic journey. Today, you can buy macarons in many countries, and many renowned French chefs are now offering macarons with different flavors. The macaron has even been adapted to Japanese culture, with Sadaharu Aoki’s creations combining traditional French flavors with Japanese ingredients.

Throughout history, the macaron has undergone a number of changes. It first made its appearance during the Middle Ages as a small almond biscuit with a soft, creamy inside. In the 1500s, Catherine de Medici likely brought the macaron to France from Italy, where it had been produced for centuries. The recipe has changed a bit since then, and the macarons of Amiens and Boulay have become some of the world’s must-eat foods.

Braces or Invisalign… That is the Question | Advanced OrthodonticsBraces or Invisalign… That is the Question | Advanced Orthodontics

Considering Invisalign to create the beautiful smile you always dreamed of?  It is a big decision and one that requires research if you are considering Invisalign as an alternative to traditional braces. Both will lead to your new smile, but the roads traveled are quite different.

Everyone is familiar with braces that are available in both metal and clear ceramic brackets so let’s just discuss Invisalign. One of the primary reasons people choose Orthodontists is that they are self-conscious about wearing braces and the aligners are nearly undetectable when worn. Most people won’t even notice you are wearing them. And, contrary to belief or despite what you have heard, your speech sounds fine to others in a very short period of time once you get used to wearing the Invisalign aligner.

Most patients have the option of choosing braces or Invisalign, but Invisalign doesn’t always work for everyone and Dr. Sepi Torkan can help you decide if Invisalign is a good choice for your or your teen.

Points to Consider when choosing braces vs Invisalign

• Are you or your child self-disciplined?  Since Invisalign is removable, following instructions, wearing your aligners except when eating and brushing your teeth, and keeping track of them when out of the mouth is important for success.  When wearing braces, we don’t have to depend so much on the patient to get the job done.

• Patients are required   to wear the aligners 20 – 22 hours per day and when switching to their next set of aligners every two weeks, understand the new aligners are snug in order to continue the tooth movement process. Some short term discomfort should be expected and the aligners cannot be removed to eliminate the issue. We suggest you put your new aligner in right before bed with Tylenol. By morning your teeth will most likely already adapted to the new fit.

• Is Invisalign the best option for you? An orthodontist is a specialist in the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of dental and facial irregularities. All orthodontists are dentists, but only about six percent of dentists are orthodontists. - with their specialized training are more qualified to determine what orthodontic treatment option is best for you or your child over a lifetime of smiles based on a fully educated decision.

Treatment time with Invisalign varies, depending upon the severity of the problem and is usually for a minimum of 12 months. If you are not sure that you or your child is a good candidate for Invisalign, the team at Advanced Orthodontics will address your treatment concerns during a complimentary smile exam to determine whether braces or Invisalign is best for you.

The differences between traditional and minimally invasive spine surgery

The differences between traditional and minimally invasive spine surgery

What are the significant differences between traditional and minimally invasive spine surgery?

Open spine surgery is still the default choice for most cases of spinal disorders. However, there are some circumstances where minimally invasive spine procedures offer several advantages over traditional open techniques. Minimally invasive spine surgery is now considered the gold standard for treating herniated discs, degenerative disc disease, stenosis, scoliosis, and other common spine conditions.

The main difference between minimally invasive and traditional open spine surgery is its performance. Traditional open spine surgery involves making large incisions along the length of the spine. During this procedure, surgeons must cut through muscle, bone, ligaments, blood vessels, nerves, and organs. In addition, they often use retractors to hold the tissues out of the way while working inside the body. These incisions can cause significant scarring and prolonged healing periods.

Minimally invasive spine surgery, however, uses small incisions and less tissue trauma. First, surgeons work around the spine through tiny incisions, usually no larger than one inch. Then, they insert surgical instruments through those openings rather than cutting into the patient’s skin. This technique prevents extensive tissue damage.

There are many benefits of minimally invasive spine surgery over traditional open spine surgery.

Less Pain

Traditional open spine surgery requires patients to lie completely flat during the entire procedure. They lie flat, which causes extreme discomfort because the muscles surrounding the spine contract and pull against the bones. Patients report feeling intense pressure and pain throughout the entire process.

Minimally invasive spine surgery does not require patients to lie flat during the procedure. Instead, they remain seated upright. This upright position helps reduce the amount of pain caused by the contraction of the muscles.
